PLEDGES TO OFFER A TAX-CUTTING BUDGET ALTERNATVE

MANCHESTER, NH APRIL 25, 2025, — Alderman Crissy Kantor, Republican candidate for Mayor of Manchester, is seeking answers from The Mayor’s Office after a shocking report from Girard at Large highlighted his offices refusal to share basic details about his proposed city budget.

As noted by Girard at Large publisher Richard Girard, “Mayor Ruais has stonewalled both the press and the public, concealing budget line items and refusing to provide transparent details about how taxpayer money is being spent.”

“This is the people’s money, and Jay Ruais acts like it’s his personal checkbook, he could have reduced taxes” said Kantor. “When the press asks what’s in his budget, they get stonewalled. When the public asks, they get silence. That’s not leadership . It’s unacceptable and lacks transparency.”

Kantor pledged to share her own alternative budget to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen – one that cuts taxes, supports working families, and restores transparency to City Hall.

“I will present a budget that does what our Mayor has failed to do: reduce taxes and respect taxpayers’ intelligence,” Kantor stated. “It’s really not complicated. You identify areas where City Hall has become inefficient and make necessary reductions. You don’t disguise it with legal jargon and avoidance.”

“If the Mayor won’t communicate with the public, I will,” she added. “Manchester deserves a mayor who works for them—not someone who hides behind staff and conceals the truth.”
