Negotiators for the Manchester Board of School Committee and the Manchester Education Association met yesterday to continue discussions on a contract for the city’s teachers. As per their agreement, proposals exchanged at negotiation sessions are to be released with a joint statement from both parties. Yesterday, Special Committee for Negotiations Chairman and Spokesman Richard H. Girard released a statement which included:
- The committee’s spreadsheet detailing the committee’s salary proposal.*
- The committee’s evaluation of the MEA’s assessment of the contract cost adjusted for retirements,* including and email from ** Business Administrator Karen DeFrancis to explain the differences between the numbers.
- The committee’s letter offering a counter proposal on salaries,** which includes a proposal on health insurance.
