Manchester Superintendent of Schools Dr. Bolgen Vargas sent a letter of resignation to the Manchester Board of School Committee this morning exercising the clause in his contract that allows him to terminate employment with 90 days notice. In addition to the letter, Dr. Vargas sent a progress report highlighting some of the successes the district has experienced during his superintendency, which began on October 1, 2016.
This announcement will come as a surprise to many. More to come on this developing story.
Glenn Rj Ouellette I am not surprised. You push someone to far into the wrong direction and people leave. Our city is well know as taken one step offered one year and three or more steps backward the next. This infighting among the MSD Board hasn’t really changed much for a very long time. The School Board is too much into Politics for themselves before putting the Student’s Education 1st. What a Shame as Dr. Vargas had moved the needle forward even between the two elected boards but now we are on our way back to the same old infighting between Board members on both the BMA & MSD Boards. Again, where is the Leadership on the Boards in this city. I am very sad that yet again we have pushed a good Superintendent to the curb. Whatever happened to the Best Interests of our Students 1st. before the personal Politics of these Boards.
