We publish the raw, unedited videoof the Candia School Board’s June 1, 2017 public hearing on its transgender/gender non-conforming student policy. The hearing was held after a vote of the board in light of a Citizen Petition Warrant Article overwhelmingly approved by voters in March.
The policy it passed over the objections of hundreds who signed petitions, testified and called members of the prior board to ask it either reject the policy or address significant concerns.
The board didn’t listen and incumbents Nicole LaFlamme and Karen Yeatman lost their seats in the March election. Echoes of that vote and those parent concerns were heard in this video, even among those who wanted it to remain in place.
