He started by talking about a decision in the 18th century to reprint exerts from The American Crisis, written by Thomas Paine. They then spoke about the Black Lives Matters movement, commenting on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s refusal to participate in the national anthem.
