Bryfonski: Help needed
Bedford Police Chief John Bryfonski is requesting the public’s assistance as the Bedford Police Department investigates two burglaries that occurred Wednesday afternoon. At approximately five o’clock on July sixth, Bedford P D responded to County Road following a reported daytime burglary. Upon arrival, officers found that the home had been forcibly entered through a window sometime during the late afternoon hours. Officers later responded to a report of a burglary on Powder Hill Road around 6 p.m., where they found the home forcibly entered through a back door. Several pieces of jewelry were reported stolen in both incidents. Anyone with information regarding either incident is asked to contact the department at 47 2 5 1 1 3. The department is urging citizens to be watchful and report any suspicious activity, vehicles, or persons in residential areas. Needless to say, they’re also encouraging folks to lock their doors and secure their valuables.
Scam Alert
The Manchester Police Department is warning of yet another scam. This one involves Eversource. According to the police, scam artists are representing themselves as Eversource employees and threatening customers in person, over the phone and online with disconnection of their electric or natural gas service if they don’t make an immediate payment. The M P D and Eversource want you to know this:
- Eversource representatives never ask for instant payment in person or over the phone.
- They don’t require the use of prepaid debit cards, such as Green Dot, MoneyPak, Vanilla or Reloadit.
- They never request customers meet at a payment center, such as a department or grocery store to make a payment.
- Eversource does not solicit door-to-door or on the phone on behalf of third-party energy suppliers.
- Their representatives always carry company-issued photo identification and will always provide it when asked.
- Eversource contractors always carry documentation explaining the nature and location of their work.
- Customers scheduled for disconnection due to nonpayment receive written notice via the U.S. mail which includes the actions they can take to maintain service.
- Eversource almost never makes unsolicited house visits, except when they need to be present for accessing, maintaining, or ensuring the reliable and safe operation of their equipment.
- If you’re not sure the person is an Eversource employee, call them. They’ll be glad to verify if work is scheduled at or near your home or business and the identity of the employee.
If something seems suspicious, call Eversource immediately toll-free at 8 0 0 6 6 2 7 7 6 4 as well as your local police department.

Candia Chief Mike McGillen: Investigating connections.
On July 6, 2016 the Candia Police Department picked up thirty two year Bryon Bouchie of Manchester for Prowling and Violation of Probation. He is being held at the Rockingham County Jail. Police believe he is connected to a number of burglaries and attempted burglaries that have taken place in town over the past two weeks. They are still investigating.

Gatsas: Ed plan on the way
Gubernatorial candidate Mayor Ted Gatsas will release his Comprehensive Education Plan for New Hampshire today. In a statement released to the press on Friday, Gatsas said, education is one of the top issues facing families in the state. Said Gatsas, quote:
As Governor you have the ability to directly affect education policy which is why every candidate running for Governor should put forward a detailed plan for education.
Gatsas’ press conference will be held this morning at the SEE Science Center at 200 Bedford Street in the Amoskeag Millyard starting at eleven. Gatsas will be our guest tomorrow to discuss this and other issues in his gubernatorial campaign.
CNHT: Straw poll results released
The Coalition of N H Taxpayers held its Annual Taxpayer Reunion Picnic this past Saturday at the American Legion Post #2 in Manchester. More than two hundred conservative activists from across the state attended. In addition to listening to multiple candidates address the crowd and taking in an amazing presentation from James O’Keefe from Project Veritas about his undercover work exposing voter fraud in New Hampshire and how the Attorney General’s Office has tried to prosecute him for exposing it rather than prosecuting those who perpetrated it, folks voted in a straw poll. Here are some of the highlights:
Edelblut: Cruises to victory
In the race for governor, Wilton State Rep. Frank Edelblut stole the show, garnering 1 1 3 votes. Executive Councilor Chris Sununu received 4 6 votes. Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas received 2 4.
Rubens: Near miss
In results that are likely to cause heartburn in some circles, Senator Kelly Ayotte pulled off a one vote victory over rival Jim Rubens, 7 9 to 7 8. Potential independent candidate Aaron Day received 15 votes.
Guinta: Narrow victory
Also eye opening were the results in the First Congressional District where embattled incumbent Frank Guinta received 8 1 votes to rival Rich Ashooh’s 7 7. Libertarian Brendan Kelly received 13.
Lawrence: Big win
In the Second Congressional District, former State Rep. Jim Lawrence of Hudson received 1 1 2 votes, trouncing former N H House Majority Leader Jack Flanagan who received 1 3. Libertarian John Babiarz received 15 votes.
GOP gubernatorial events this week
Forums and debates in the G O P primary for governor officially get underway this week. Tonight, the Derry Republican Committee will host a forum with the candidates at the Halligan Tavern in downtown Derry starting at six o’clock. Tomorrow night, the Bedford Republican Committee will host the “gubers” in the Bedford Public Library starting at seven. Then Thursday, the Windham Republican Committee will host the first debate debate between the candidates in the Windham High School Auditorium, beginning at seven.
