Cady: That horse has left the barn
If the Commissioner of Grafton who testified they should bury Northern Pass lines along 93 and all the Conservationists, Society for Protection of Forests, Conservation Foundation and Appalachia MT. Club will like driving in the bumper to bumper traffic while held up for the digging and blasting of the beautiful landscape.
More interestingly how many tourists will not come to NH but will go to Maine and VT and discover new vistas to visit?
I dare anyone presently driving along highways to pass under a power line and time how long before they are out of sight of the lines and towers I guarantee its less time than to get out of sight of the wind towers and cell towers.
Sometimes modernization for our convenience of turning on a light switch and knowing we will have power for toasters, heat lights will cause short spells of vistas to be less than beautiful. But I say the 1926 electrification act has long passed and we already have the sight of power lines which aren’t going away even if they get this one buried. As my Dad a VT farmer used to say it’s to late to close the barn door!
