New Web site launched
Hope for New Hampshire Recovery has launched a comprehensive new website. The new site is designed to make it easier for individuals and loved ones touched by addiction to find information and connect them with resources and recovery centers across the state. Gossler showcases “Leader in Me.”
Today is Leadership Day for the students of Manchester’s Gossler Park Elementary School. Students will celebrate the end of the academic year and their “Leader in Me” program by presenting the leadership skills they have learned throughout the year. Members of the community are invited to hear what the seven “Leader in Me” habits are. They’re based on Steven Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. Attendees will see the leadership skills that Gossler students have developed during classroom visits where the children will demonstrate how they put those principles into practice to achieve their goals. A school assembly will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by student-led tours, classroom visits and light refreshments until 11:30 a.m.
Gossler Park: To host neighborhood party
Next week, Gossler will host a Neighborhood Block Party to celebrate its participation in the Community Schools Project. On May twenty sixth, seventy fourth and fifth graders from the school will receive a bike pack, which includes a bicycle, bike helmet, light and lock from the Q C Bike Collective. To get the stuff, the kids had to demonstrate their leadership skills on the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Students from the “Leader in Me” program we just mentioned and complete additional time each week in reading and math.
Last night, ninety kids at Beech Street School received their bike packs during their neighborhood celebration, which attracted more than six hundred people who were nicely entertained by a D J, police horses and more!

Milford Oval: Taste of Milford on the way
The town of Milford is holding its seventh annual Taste of Milford on Friday, June third, from six to eight thirty. Attendees are invited to taste some of the best entrees, desserts, appetizers and more from over thirty culinary enthusiasts from Milford area restaurants, shops, caterers and Milford High School’s Culinary Program. Culinary enthusiasts will prepare and showcase specialty foods from the Mediterranean to New England alongside a shop or business around the Oval and Town Hall. They’ll also have live music throughout the evening. Returning champs from last year will be back to defend their titles. Profile Chorus 2016: Competition winner!
The Profile Chorus from Manchester won first place this year in the Small Chorus category and placed sixth overall in the Sweet Adelines International Forty First Annual Regional Chorus Competition. The choir also received the Most Improved Chorus award. The annual regional competition is held at Symphony Hall in Springfield, Massachusetts and includes groups from around New England, Northern New York, and Quebec, Canada. The Profile Chorus is an all women Acapella group in four-part harmony led by Terry Neill of Manchester. The group welcomes new women singers to join them on their Monday night rehearsals. Post 27: Golf tourney for Legion Baseball
The American Legion Post Twenty-Seven in Londonderry is hosting its annual golf outing at the Hidden Valley Golf Course on June eleventh. The event is being held to raise money to support its Legion Baseball team. It costs seventy-five dollars per player, which includes the golf game, entry into a putting contest and the all important post tournament cookout at the post. Those interested can pick up the needed form from Post 2 7 at six Sargent Road or email Post Commander Robert Stuart at s t u a r t dot r at Comcast dot net. Golfers don’t have to be a member of the post or the Legion to play; they just need to want to have a good time while raising money for a good cause.
