(Hours 3a,b,c) Sid GlassnerWe talked to Sid Glassner, Senior Fellow with the New England Society for the Study of Education, for Is Our Children Learning this morning.  We started by hearing a public service announcement from Mom-at-Large Patrice.  Sid then talked to us about issues spoken about at this week’s Manchester School Board meeting.  They talked about the importance of holding people accountable and shared about a teacher evaluation plans.  Sid talked about the lack of a program that informs the community at large of what’s happening with local education.

(Hour 3b) Sid joined us for a second segment and talked to us about Friedrichs Case, which is taking place in California.  Rich informed Sid that Manchester adopted an agency fee.  They talked about Pinkerton’s method of negotiations for teachers.  He ended by talking about the misleading information coming from Presidential campaigns.

(Hour 3c) We continued talking about Senator Ted Cruz’s promise to abolish Common Core and the Federal Department of Education.  They talked about the jargon that gets thrown around and the need for good people to get out and participate in Government issues.
