(Hours 3a,b,c) Sid GlassnerWe were joined by Sid Glassner, Senior Fellow with the New England Society for the Study of Education and host of Inside Education, for Is Our Children Learning.  We started the segment by discussing Christmas plans and dishes for next week.  We then talked about the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act).  Sid talked to us about some of the drawbacks that come from venture capitalists getting involved in education and starting academies.  He then told us what should be done and pointed out that Boards of Education should be wary and paying attention to the issue.  He also told us about TFA (Teach for America).  Tune in to hear more.

(Hour 3c) Sid interviewed our Humble Host this morning about issues that will pertain to him as a School Board meeting.  They talked about the PACE assessment and the other forms of competency based education.  They discussed how those tests are going to affect the state of schools and Sid shared his skepticism in the programs.
