There will be a big yard sale at the Robie’s Country Store’s October 10 Open House from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  There are sure to be some treasures you just must have.

Spaces are still available; an 8’ space is only $10.  Robie’s is also gratefully accepting donated goods to sell to benefit the preservation effort.  To reserve a space or arrange to drop off donated items, contact Bob at 867-0842 or boblee100@aol.com.

The Hooksett Lions Club, a fixture in town for over 50 years, will have an information table from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Plan a few minutes to talk to the Lions about their community projects and current initiatives.  One annual campaign ongoing now is “Got Socks?” which collects new socks for the underprivileged in our area.  The Lions would welcome any donations of socks that day.
In recognition of Fire Prevention Week, the Hooksett Fire & Rescue Department will have a representative on hand from 9 a.m. to noon to talk with residents about the operations of the department, answer any questions visitors might have, and have information available to help you keep your family safe.
The Robie’s group is pleased to have DJ Bobby Dee’s Rock and Roll Caravan with Jim Peace back with us from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. providing some great music.  If you love listening to the oldies, don’t miss this.
Also joining the festivities is our very active Kiwanis Club of Hooksett.  Representatives will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  They will have membership information and can fill visitors in on their work in town including the Community Food Pantry and Kids’ Kloset and their new project to construct a splash pad at Donati Park.
Good food for the day includes crepes, French toast, and Egg McRobies, creamy corn chowder, cheesy macaroni with ham, and those always popular steamed hot dogs.  Tempt your sweet tooth with a brownie sundae for dessert, and pick up your supply of sharp cheddar from the cheese wheel.
New inventory of Robie’s merchandise will be available as will items from the Heritage Commission including the new “geographic” Hooksett t-shirts.  Also offered is a range of consignment items, sales of which also benefit the preservation effort, from comic books and banks to other antique pieces.
