Manchester’s “Uber Stupor” continues as last night’s discussion ended with a city ultimatum that just might cause Uber to drop the city from it’s service list. The sticking point? Whether or not Uber drivers should be required to go through state police criminal background checks. There are associated issues, too, such as insurance. worker’s comp, “negligent hiring” and, of course, fees paid to the city.
The bleary eyed Humble Host boiled down more than two hours of intense argument and brinkmanship engaged by both sides, analyzed the fault lines and, believe it or not, found a way forward.
