Sid is joined by Thomas Frischknecht, one of the founders of Founder’s Academy, which was established in the fall of 2014, in Manchester. They discussed the two different kinds of charter schools: state charter and city charter.
Sid and Mr. Frischknecht touch on how to establish a school and what is required for success. A strong business background, such as Thomas’s , is very beneficial.
The students at Founders Academy will be required to take the Smarter Balance test. Although the teachers do not follow the common core curriculum, Thomas is confident they will do well.
How does the DOE disseminate date that they collect through testing programs? Who gets to see it and why? How do charter schools compare to the salaries and benefits from the public sector?
