Ann Maire Banfield filled in for Sid Glassner today. Joined by Doris Hohensee from New Hampshire Families for education. We talked about the current application by the NH Dept. of Ed for a No Child Left Behind Waiver. We also talked about some of the current bills before the legislature that will erode parental rights like HB323.
Sara Wood from La talked about the reauthorization of No Child Left Behind (ESEA) HR5. Governor Jeb Bush at a recent stop in NH said he supported this legislation and that it would reduce federal involvement in education. This Bill is over 600 pages long and Sara pointed out that if passed, would do just the opposite. It would bring more federal involvement in our local schools.
