At a time when Democrats have needed to unify in the vital county office campaigns across New Hampshire, it is good to see that the party has indeed rallied behind single candidates who will be free to focus efforts upon their Republican opponents. Ed Sapienza, a self-seeking neophyte whose joke of a web site indicates a ninth grade written expression level, has chosen to take on the eminently able and qualified Leo Bernier in the Democratic primary for Hillsborough County Commissioner, District 1. Leo, a brilliant, devout and hardworking public servant has most capably held office as Manchester School Committee Member, Manchester City Clerk, and other local appointed and elected offices. He should not be saddled with the burden of a Democratic primary, but in the end, Sapienza will learn a very hard lesson as to what it takes to succeed in local politics: including a respect for your professional betters, and to work your way toward these offices as opposed to just being a thorn in the side of what these neophytes childishly refer to as “the establishment”. There is no substitute for proven ability, and that will resonate on primary day when Leo will humiliate Sapienza by at least more than a 2 to 1 margin. LEO BERNIER WILL MAKE A GREAT COUNTY COMMISSIONER.
