(Hour 2c) Listening to friends and neighbors about auto repair issues is not always a bad idea. There comes a time when you have to stop listening.
Despite good intentions, too many folks just aren’t qualified to give you the best advice.
John Manelas of Auto Care Plus illustrated his logic with three recent customer encounters. In one case, the customer didn’t need suggested repairs. His pickup truck passed inspection without them.
In another case, the customer ignored his check engine light for too long (for a $200 fix) and ended up having to replace his car’s engine to the tune of $4,000.
Manelas discussed some of the red flags to watch for when searching for a professional repair shop after you forgo the friendly, unprofessional advice.
