(Hour 3b, c) Senior Fellow Sid Glassner is very happy about Monday’s Public Forum & Debate on Common Core. He is hopeful that it will breaknew ground in the debate. There are good, hard questions that need direct answers. Sid promoted 5 half-hour shows produced on Common Core that will be available on YouTube soon.
Glassner discussed the appointment of Bill Duncan to the NH Board of Education. Like it or not, it’s a done deal. Will Executive Councilor Chris Pappas be a done deal on election day? All part of the Politics of Education. Dave from Hooksett called in with the quote of the day.
Glassner described the “Heavy Hammer” and coercive nature of the US Dept of Education, starving states that do not conform of federal funds. Sid also stated that Common Core is based on a lie, with absolutely no evidence to support it. Educators haven’t conceived Common Core. Why replace existing state standards that are superior?
Glassner also discussed educational methodology, prepping for assessment tests and evaluating teachers.
