(Hour 3c) Ann Marie Banfield of Cornerstone Policy Research joined us to talk Common Core. School teachers and their unions are starting to push back against the “abusive” standards. A battle is brewing in Nashua between teachers and their Superintendent, Mark Conrad. NEA President Dennis Van Roekel publicly stated that a “Course Correction” was needed on CC. Banfield thinks we need more than a course correction, we need to get rid of it. And she is not alone. Barbara from Manchester called in to comment how the unfunded mandates of Common Core are just the newest examples of such federal government programs like Goals 2000 and No Child Left Behind.
