(Hour 1b) On the agenda at the Manchester Planning Board is a multiple- unit housing proposal at the old fire station location on Hackett Hill Road. Rich is (… read more…) concerned that it’s more of the same kind of high-density housing that is contributing a social services overload. How bad is the problem becoming? Rich shared some very scary statistics from City Hall that should convince the folks at the Planning Board to vote NO on this type of housing development that already saturates Manchester.

The volume on this is really low – hard to hear it.
But, 3-bedroom condo’s aren’t so bad. What’s the valuation? As long as they are paying taxes on $250k or more on each unit, then they won’t be tax negative. But you are right in that Hacket Hill needs a elementary school there.
Joe, they’re not condos, they’re three bedroom rental townhouses. If their value is on par with the others this fellow’s developed, they’ll be valued at less than half the $250K amount you cite as okay. Sorry about the volume.
