Weekend Events in the City of Manchester that could cause traffic delays and increase traffic congestion.The Manchester Police Department would like to advise you of two events on September 21, 2013 that may cause traffic delays and increase traffic congestion. 

The first event is the My Dogs are Barking 5K road race that will begin at the Derryfield Park at 9:00 AM. The race will exit the park via Circular Dr and Reservoir Ave and head into the neighborhood north of Bridge St and then return to the park, again via Circular Dr and Reservoir Ave.
Although the course is considered “open” to traffic there will be a few road closures in key locations to ensure that the route is safe for the runners. Both Circular Dr and Reservoir Ave will be closed during the race and traffic on Belmont St will be restricted from entering off of Bridge St as well as from Smyth Rd. Drivers in this area are urged to use caution if they encounter runners in the roadway.
This race benefits the Animal Rescue League of NH and is considered a six legged race, in that participants are welcome to bring their four legged friends along with them. Information on the race can be found at

The second event is the Queen City Stampede, which is an “Amazing Race” themed event that pits two person teams against each other as they move through the City completing challenges and figuring out clues to determine their next destination.
The event begins at 9:00 AM and will have 4 waves of 50 teams (one wave per half hour) leaving from Veterans’ Park and eventually returning to Veterans’ Park once all the challenges have been met.
Although there are no road closures for this event and we do not anticipate any particular traffic issues associated with this event, motorist in Manchester are urged to be cognizant of pedestrians as we do anticipate a large volume of pedestrian traffic from this event.
