Second Street Corridor Access and Mixed-Use Overlay Zoning Public Workshop for City of Manchester, NH

The Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission (SNHPC) is pleased to announce the continuation of the Second Street Corridor Access and Mixed-Use Overlay Zoning Project with the City of Manchester Planning Board and the Manchester Planning & Community Development Department. This project is funded by a grant provided to the City of Manchester through the New Hampshire Community Planning Grant Program at New Hampshire Housing.

The purpose of this project is to develop access management strategies and a mixed use overlay zoning district for Second Street between the Manchester/Bedford town line and Granite Street at Exit 5.

In conjunction with this project, SNHPC will be conducting a Health Impact Assessment on the goals and proposed zoning and access management strategies developed for Second Street to ensure health and health inequities are considered in the decision making.

To discuss Second Street’s zoning, access and associated health needs, SNHPC will be hosting a public workshop on September 23, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Saint Raphael Parish, 103 Walker Street, Manchester, NH.  This event is free and open to the public.  During this workshop SNHPC staff will review access management and complete streets options for the Second Street corridor as well as recommendations from the Second Street Health Impact Assessment (HIA).

More information about the Second Street Corridor Access and Zoning Project can be obtained from the project website atwww.secondstreetproject.com or by calling 603.669.4664.
