Profiled: Cpl. Michael W. Ouellette Fund
The Easter Seals New Hampshire Marine Cpl. Michael W. Ouellette Fund was established by Donna Ouellette in memory of her son decorated Marine Cpl. Michael Ouellette, a 1999 graduate of Manchester’s Memorial High School, who was killed in combat in Afghanistan in March 2009. The gift is rooted in the memory of a loving son, and a brave young man who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his country.
“I created the fund because I felt it was a meaningful way to honor Mike’s memory, and to pay tribute to his service and courage. It is my hope that this fund will help other service members and their families thrive in the face of many challenges and the sacrifices they make for our freedom.”
—Donna, Michael’s Mom
The Fund will benefit veterans, services members and military families receiving assistance through the Easter Seals New Hampshire Veterans Service Program.

The Fund will benefit veterans, services members and military families receiving assistance through the Easter Seals New Hampshire Veterans Service Program. The end goal of this critical program is to develop a care plan for each client to ensure they receive the assistance they need to become self-sufficient.
To date, Easter Seals NH Veterans Services program has helped more than 800 service members and their families and are currently managing more than 300 individual cases. Over the next several months, we will connect with nearly 1000 more service members. Easter Seals Care Coordinators work to identify the unique needs of each individual service member and family. Services may include facilitating mental health counseling for veterans living with post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury, marriage counseling and working with school guidance counselors to arrange for support for children of military families.
In addition to the counseling, Easter Seals provides financial assistance for critical, basic needs such as:
- food
- housing
- heating fuel
- transportation
- household budgeting
- medical care
- job training & placement
Individuals, corporations and civic organizations are welcome to contribute to the Cpl. Michael W. Ouellette Fund. Honoring Michael in this very meaningful way will ensure countless veterans, service members and families have the opportunity to overcome the hardships associated with military service.
Thank you for joining us in this important work. Your gift will stay in New Hampshire to help those in need. At Easter Seals New Hampshire, 90 cents of every dollar is spent on programs and services.
