Profiled: Alvirne High School Friends of Music
The Friends of Music (FOM) exists to support and promote the education, growth, and development of music within the Alvirne High School Music Department.
- To cooperate with the Director of the Music Department, School Administration, and the Hudson School Board by building and maintaining an organization of parents and interested adults who can help to promote the general activities of the Music Department.
- To enhance the learning experience of the entire Music Department by contributing financial support for the maintenance, expansions and transportation of said Department.
- To make every endeavor possible to ensure that no student is denied the opportunity to participate in the program activities due to financial need.
- To provide opportunities for scholarship(s) for post secondary education of Alvirne High School students involved in the AHS music program.
- To organize, raise funds.

We hold many fundraisers in support of this purpose. Following our Comedy Show/Silent Auction, the other major fundraisers we will be doing are our Cabaret, held the last weekend in March (three shows in a Cabaret style setting at the AHS Gym) that typically sell out, and our New Hampshire State Chili Cookoff, the first Saturday in June, where the winners earn a trip to the World Chili Cookoff in Manchester NH, which you recently promoted on your show. In between, we hold other fundraisers that support our scholarship program and allow students to raise money for their trips. This year, our award winning Jazz Band will be visiting Germany in February and we are planning an overall music department trip to Quebec City, Canada.
