Foote: Lost and found
The Manchester Police Department was looking for help locating seventy one year old Kenneth Foote of Tory Road in Manchester. Foote, who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease, was reported missing yesterday at about three thirty in the afternoon. He’s white, five foot nine, one hundred fifty pounds with brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing, blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt and glasses. If anyone has seen, sees or has information about his whereabouts please contact the Manchester Police Department at 6 6 8 8 7 1 1 and request to speak with dispatch. Publisher’s Note: After we went on the air, we were alerted by a loyal listener that the Manchester Police Department announced that Foote had been found. We dug into our email in box and found a note simply saying he’d been found. There was no information on where or his condition.
Foster: Accuses drug companies
Attorney General Joseph A. Foster and 41 other attorneys general have filed an amended antitrust lawsuit against the makers of Suboxone over allegations the companies schemed to block generic competitors. Reckitt Benckiser Pharmaceuticals, now known as Indivior, is accused of conspiring with MonoSol Rx to switch Suboxone from a tablet to a film that dissolves in the mouth in order to prevent or delay generic alternatives and maintain monopoly profits. The companies are accused of violating state and federal antitrust laws. Suboxone is a brand-name prescription drug used to treat heroin and other opioid addictions by easing addiction cravings. No generic alternative is currently available.
Multiple public hearings on the docket
The Derry Town Council will hold public hearings on the evening of Tuesday, December 6th starting at 7:30 at the Derry Municipal Center. The hearings have been called to gather public input on a pending agreement with the Southeast Land Trust for the oversight and management of conservation land that the town council is acquiring on Willow Street and to consider the disposition of town owned parcels at 63 Drew Road, 6 Gill Road and 5 Mundy Lane. The council, acting as the Sewer Commission, will also consider a more than eight percent sewer fee rate hike. (Ever wonder why Derry’s called Space Town, USA? It’s not because it was home to Alan Shepard! Nope, it’s because their taxes and fees continue to reach toward the moon!) Flynn: Named National Security Advisor
According to multiple published news reports, G O P President Elect Donald Trump has asked retired General Michael Flynn to be his National Security Advisor. Flynn, a lifelong Democrat, has been an outspoken critic of the Obama Administration’s handling terrorism both at home and abroad. It was his internal criticism of those efforts and his refusal to not identify its source as Radical Islam, that led to his retirement. Flynn, who addressed the Republican National Convention and was considered for vice-president, is known for his aggressive stance in combating the terror threat and his intelligence gathering capabilities.
Romney: Mittens back on?
Also creating some transition buzz is a scheduled appearance of Mitt Romney at one of Trump’s golf courses in New Jersey tomorrow. Allegedly, he’s interested in being the Secretary of State. There are just too many places I could go with this…
Huge oil find!
The Permian Basin in Texas was just discovered to hold twenty billion barrels of oil contained within in four layers of shale. That’s about triple the size of North Dakota’s Bakken Field and the largest unconventional crude find in the United States. It’s worth almost a trillion dollars at today’s prices. The shale could hold as much as 75 billion barrels of oil, making it the second largest oil field in the world. Why am I telling you this? I’m thinking it’s about time become the energy independent country we can become and stop sending our hard earned money to all these places that fund terror and otherwise want to kill us, that’s why!
Vargas: Coffee Chat!
Just a reminder that on Monday morning, Manchester School Superintendent Dr. Bolgen Vargas will host the first of a series of informal gatherings to talk about education in the city. A morning and afternoon session will be hosted each month at a different school. All are welcome, no matter where in Manchester they live, which school they work in, or where their children go to school. Vargas is eager to hear from parents, taxpayers, faculty and staff and others in the community who have questions or wish to offer thoughts on how to best meet the educational needs of all of Manchester’s kids. The Coffee and Conversation will start to flow at seven thirty on Monday morning at Bakersville School.
South End: Traffic patterns to change Monday
The back to the future traffic pattern on Gold Street, Sewall Street and President Road in South Manchester will be restored at 4:00 P M on Monday when the gates on Gold and Sewall streets will be lifted and President Road will return to two-way traffic. And there was joy in Mudville, or at least Manchester’s South End.
