(Hour 1b)
This segment begins with a description of Ward 9 Alderman Barbara Shaw requesting a change in the definition of what constitutes a commercial vehicle, in response to complaints regarding landscape trucks, and smaller, lettered vehicles.
Rich then continues with votes from the budget meeting. Why are the aldermen at this stage looking to settle contracts, and does this amount to public negotiating? Will the board attempt to raid the one time fund again in order to “fix the school budget?”
We also hear that, while $120,000 is available for a director of adult education, it was necessary to cut $12,500 for girls hockey. Before it was discovered that there existed a trust for athletics, and full funding for the hockey program was restored!
