(Hour 1c)
This segment, after a bit about Timberlane, covered the special meeting of the Board of Aldermen to be held tonight. The subject will be the school budget, which we will learn was presented by Mayor Gatsas in March, and has had no discussion since. With eight days left to go, it would appear that there is very little time to resolve any outstanding issues. Superintendent Livingston will be heard in this archive to claim dire consequences if her monetary demands are not met. Rich will quote the actually numbers, and we will see that the default budget, which will kick in, in the event the aldermen can’t resolve this is actually 2% high than last year. The segment ended with the Mayor’s directive that the depleted reserve must be rebuilt, or will result in a negative bond rating for the city, and ultimately cost more money in higher borrowing costs.
