(Hour 3a)
This segment began with the story of ten new students, having been enrolled at Pinkerton Academy, apparently without the knowledge of the school board. Is the verification process broken? Why can’t these students be tracked by the system?
We also heard how Pinkerton is attempting to convince students who did not chose to attend to change their minds and enroll.
Should Manchester consider taking students from Auburn and other sending towns? Manchester has a number of excellent opportunities for alternative education, and is aware that Hooksett, at least is willing to include an up-charge on each student, and reasonable capitol costs associated with expanding enrollment. Considering that test scores do not reveal a significant difference between Manchester and Pinkerton, why not?
