The New Boston School Board plans to nominate Tori Underwood as Principal of New Boston Central School and Dr. Timothy Stokes as Assistant Principal at the next New Boston School Board meeting on March 18, 2015. Ms. Underwood and Dr. Stokes have been serving as Interim Principal and Interim Assistant Principal since July 1, 2014. Ms. Underwood has worked in SAU #19 in a variety of leadership roles since 1985 and Dr. Stokes joined the leadership team on July 1, 2014. The New Boston School Board voted unanimously at their meeting on February 3, 2015 to not move forward with an administrative search and to bring forward Ms. Underwood and Dr. Stokes for nomination.
Superintendent Brian Balke shared, “I have every confidence in the leadership of Ms. Underwood and Dr. Stokes. Tori and Tim bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their roles at New Boston Central School. They are dynamic, energetic leaders who care about this school, our kids and the New Boston community. I couldn’t be more pleased with the Board’s decision.”
School priorities at New Boston Central School will be to focus on space needs, the addition of modular classrooms, continuation of the Artist in Residence program, integration of technology, and ensuring that NBCS is a special place to learn and grow for children.
