(Hour 3b) Examiner.com writer Kimberly Morin shared the latest “stuff” out of Windham on their fast-track no-bid contract with Cenergistic.
The deal is dead. In Rochester, too. Would it have anything to do with upcoming elections?
Morin opined on the reasons why and shared more “stuff” on Cenergistic “patterns.”

Morin gave us the goods on bad legislation with good intentions in Concord. Sounds like more of the same to us!

Cenergistic Operations in New Hampshire
Cenergistic reluctantly made the decision to withdraw its offer of services to Windham School District and other New Hampshire school districts and regrets that we will be unable to offer these schools the opportunity to achieve significant savings in their energy costs.
Windham School District administration and board members voted to partner with Cenergistic after spending two months researching the company’s program and successes. They made an informed decision based on discussions with Cenergistic personnel, satisfied clients and research into the company’s successes and challenges.
Unfortunately, some of the public debate about Cenergistic has been misinformed and inaccurate.
Yes, Cenergistic is now registered to do business in New Hampshire. That was an oversight, which we remedied the day it was discovered.
But the evidence of Cenergistic’s uniqueness and success in creating energy savings is clear. No other company we’re aware of offers anything like the scope of our program, process and services. In our 29 years we’ve provided services to more than 1,350 school districts, community colleges, universities, large churches and health care clients in 48 states across the nation. Together, our clients have reported saving more than $3.7 billion — money that would otherwise have been paid in utility bills. They’ve cut expected utility costs by an average of 26%. And importantly, our clients who maintain the program for 10 years or longer realize an average of a 714% return on investment. We know those figures because our clients use the industry’s leading utility tracking software to measure and verify savings according to
international industry standards.
Cenergistic provides services for several months before a new client starts paying any fee. This allows clients to begin realizing savings before making the first of its monthly payments (spread over five years). And our services are guaranteed: each client will achieve more energy savings than it invests in the program or Cenergistic refunds the difference — each and every year if necessary.
The U.S. Department of Energy Environmental Protection Agency ENERGY STAR program recognized Cenergistic as ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year in 2009 and 2010 followed by the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. That honor is achieved by less than one half of one percent of all ENERGY STAR Partners. In New Hampshire two other districts, Londonderry and Nashua, have saved millions of dollars because of the Cenergistic program and those programs in both districts continue to be run successfully to this day.
Londonderry cut expected energy costs by 32% — saving $5.4 million over the last 14 years. Nashua School District partnered with us the same year and cut expected energy costs by 22% — saving $10.2 million. Both districts maintain the program today, and work with our experts as needed without cost to resolve new energy issues and continue their conservation efforts.
Taxpayers in these communities get the benefit of seeing millions of dollars redirected
toward educational priorities.
So what does Cenergistic do to earn its fee?
We help our clients achieve success not by selling equipment, but by training personnel to optimize the way every energy-consuming system in their organization operates. Yes, it includes turning off lights and computers. But it goes much, much deeper. The real savings are delivered because our engineers and experts bring a depth and breadth of experience not found in other organizations. We’ve audited tens of thousands of buildings and re-commissioned
complex equipment and systems while ensuring comfort for students and teachers.
We train district staff to optimize systems and continually make adjustments that ensure comfort while saving energy — without expensive capital investment.
We help our clients make significant, positive change — never an easy task, but we’ve done it successfully for nearly 30 years in more than 1,350 school districts, churches, colleges and universities across the nation.
School board and administration members who have actively pursued sound energy management for many years understand that delivering significant energy savings on top of previous efforts and successes takes much more than paying attention to lights and computers. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems are far more complex than those we have in our homes. They require constant, ongoing tuning to meet ever-changing weather patterns as well as class and activity schedules. Commercial kitchen facilities are similarly complex compared to our kitchens at home. Athletic facilities, common areas and auditoriums all require specific management strategies. Our experts train district staff in the best ways to operate systems and schedule runtimes and activities — methods that enhance the educational environment for students and save financial resources for taxpayers.
We had hoped that the Windham program would be implemented. But we are now unable to move forward in a manner that would have made it possible to save a projected $1.8 million dollars for the school district over the next ten years.
