WHAT: Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day
WHEN: Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 9 AM to 2 PM
WHERE: Manchester Drop-Off Center, 500 Dunbarton Road (off of Front Street)
COST: Free to Manchester residents with proof of residency.
WHAT IS IT: This is one of two opportunities each year for residents of the City to dispose of toxic household products in a safe manner. Up to ten gallons of liquid or 20 pounds of solid waste may be disposed of at no cost to residents.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Liquids should be in containers no larger than five gallons. Each container must be labeled. All containers should be carried in boxes – not large garbage bags. Participants must show proof of residency such as an auto registration, driver’s license or paid property tax receipt.
WHAT IS ACCEPTED: Most pesticides, herbicides, oil-based paint, wood stains and strippers, sealants, thinners, poisons, acids, cleaning products and pharmaceuticals can be disposed of at this event.
WHAT IS NOT ACCEPTED: Empty containers, latex paint (when air-dried can be safely disposed of
in regular trash), tires, compressed gas cylinders, explosives, ammunition, infectious or biologically active materials and PCB’s (polychlorinated biphenyls). No commercially-generated waste is accepted.

across the city including the Mayor’s Office, Assessor’s Office, Building Department, City Clerk’s Office, Tax Collector’s Office, Public Works Department, Water Works, Wastewater Treatment Facility, Health Department, the Carpenter Library, and the Amoskeag Fishways.
