(Hour 2a) Manchester Alderman and retired Union Leader Agent Patrick Long joined us to discuss Labor Day, a celebration of working Americans.

Long explained why we’re all “employees at will” in NH and why Right to Know “is all perception that would have a minimal impact” here.

Also, the reasons why Ruger left the state, agency fees and union insurance.

(Hour 2b) Long explained negotiating in good faith, minimum wages for Union members and why it’s important with Unions in the negotiation of contracts.

Rich and Pat debated “forced” unionism and the notion of Right to Work states making unions “work harder,” citing his own need to work hard to attract new members.  Results were expected!

Long also debated Manchester issues including: Job Corps, the Responsible Employer Ordinance and immediate costs vs. long-term costs.

(Hour 2c) Pat and Rich agreed on the need for Queen City Chamber of Commerce employees to live in the City of Manchester.
