(Hour 3b, c) Senior Fellow Sid Glassner pointed to an article by Lyndsey Layton of the Washington Post that he described as “wonderful and very revealing.
How Bill Gates pulled off the swift Common Core revolution
Glassner noted how uncomfortable Bill Gates looks when being challenged. Is Common Core really about improving educational standards or is it really about improving Microsoft’s bottom line?

We asked Glassner about town halls. He prefers writing elected officials and told us about his encounter with Senator Jeanne Shaheen at a town hall meeting to illustrate his point. Sid also discussed the “drivel” in a recent Carol Shea Porter Political Letter.
We discussed Governor Mary Fallin’s decision to abandon the Common Core standards in Oklahoma claiming they’ve been taken over by the Feds. Fallin is also the Chairman of the National Governor’s Association.
Glassner says these are all contributing to the “leaks in the dam (Common Core). The lie will die under it’s own weight. There is still no evidence that these standards are better than the old ones they’re replacing.”
