Profiled: David Tirrell-Wysocki

David Tirrell-Wysocki is executive director of the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications in Manchester. He retired July 2009 from The Associated Press, where he had been reporter and broadcast editor for Northern New England for 32 years.

David taught and developed curriculum at the Loeb School before being appointed director in 2007. He has helped expand curriculum to include new classes on Social Media, Public Relations, Feature Writing and workshops including Police-Media relations and Writing Children’s Books.

Profiled: David Tirrell-Wysocki

David Tirrell-Wysocki is executive director of the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications in Manchester. He retired July 2009 from The Associated Press, where he had been reporter and broadcast editor for Northern New England for 32 years.

David taught and developed curriculum at the Loeb School before being appointed director in 2007. He has helped expand curriculum to include new classes on Social Media, Public Relations, Feature Writing and workshops including Police-Media relations and Writing Children’s Books.

After graduating from Boston University in 1974, David was a newswriter at WEEI, an all-news radio station in Boston. He began his on-air news reporting career at WKNE radio in Keene before moving to WKXL in Concord, and two years later, to the AP.

As an award-winning reporter, he covered 9 New Hampshire presidential primaries and major stories including the Challenger space shuttle disaster and the 1997 shooting deaths of two state troopers, a judge and a newspaper editor in Colebrook, N.H.

David grew up in Baltimore, Md., and now lives in Canterbury, N.H. He is married and has two grown children.
