Susan Laughlin worked for New Hampshire Magazine for 15 years and continues on as the Food Editor. Editor Rick Broussard says, “I believe that Susan has been a potent secret weapon for NH tourism for quite some time. She loves to explore the entire state for its culinary and craft treasures and she has translated that passion into excellent writing and even better photography. She has chronicled the cuisine scene as it has matured and evolved here and has become one of the state’s most trusted and respected voices on great food and the people who prepare it.”
She recently was honored with the 2013 Media Award from the NH Travel Counsel for her reporting around the state.
Hot New Restaurants, Best Breakfasts and Best Brunches are just a view of the feature stories Susan has compiled for the magazine over the years. The Chocolate Challenge series continued for a number years. Here, chefs were invited to the NH Magazine office to finish and present a dessert for the panel of judges.
Susan developed an interest in fine food and drink with her late husband Gary, as they dined out almost nightly in their 19-year relationship. She also loves to cook at home with a focus on healthy eating.
She is originally from Milwaukee and has lived in New Hampshire for 15 years with another 20 in the Worcester area. Other interests include swing and contra dancing, Ikebana flower arranging and painting.
