(Hour 2c) Steve Freeman from the Manchester Co-Op explained their current campaign to raise enough funds to prove community interest in their project. What is the Food Co-Op? It’s a unique initiative to bring LOCAL, FRESH and ORGANIC foods to our own backyard. Steve explained how our healthcare costs have DOUBLED since World War II while our food spending has been cut in half, a direct correlation to the declining quality of our food. Is buying Organic worth it? What does Organic REALLY mean? What are the “Clean 15” and the “Dirty Dozen” fruits/ vegetables? Is junk food more addictive than the healthy stuff?
