(Hour 3b, c) Former Manchester Superintendant Tom Brennan called in for a dynamite discussion! What does Tom think about new evidence that “Teaching to the Test” is EXACTLY what Common Core will do? Is a 2nd grader’s assignment to persuade his/ her parents to buy a new pet, or an IPad, appropriate? What questions should we be asking educational leaders BEFORE implementation?

CRITICAL THINKING under Common CORE must be “narrowly” focused against parents. Children are encouraged to argue persuasively against parents from the primary grades. Yet, the Nashua Superintendent Conrad stated last night during a Work-Session on Common CORE that he didn’t think that parents should be having a discussion or debate on Common CORE.
Of course parent’s shouldn’t be having a discussion. They’re too stupid to know what to discuss, don’t you see.
